Jupiter's Cazimi

+ 911 to Help with Staying "Housed"

The God of Thunder Cleansed

As I write this post, the Sun and Jupiter are about to meet in the sky in what’s called a “cazimi” — a term derived from the Arabic that means “in the heart of the sun”. Each planet undergoes a cazimi at least once a year.

A cazimi purifies and resets the planet’s function in our lives — through the house and sign in which it takes place (in this case, tropical Aries) and we see the results of that in the house(s) and sign(s) ruled by it (today that would be Sagittarius and Pisces).

Leading up to the cazimi, the planet becomes “combust” because the Sun is starting to heat things up. For those of you with key Sag and/or Pisces placements (moon, sun, ascendant, chart lord), this might’ve manifested in having less energy than usual for the past week or so — mainly through feeling burnt out. For the rest of us, we might’ve felt like our mentors, gurus, benefactors were putting us under greater scrutiny before helping us or that our values, ways to connect to the divine, or access to grace and prosperity felt weaker or in need of being overhauled. It could even been as literal as having to deal with legal issues and/or confronting abuses of power (it me!).

However, as the Sun envelopes Jupiter so that it is no longer visible, what happens is that the soul (the Sun) and Jupiter’s mission to bestow wisdom and expand our minds come into alignment. What gets burned away are the distractions — either in misunderstanding how Jupiter functions in our life and/or the obstacles (usually in our own egos) to grace and prosperity (not just money but freedom from the concerns that prevent us from existing as a synthesis of matter and spirit).

In Aries, the exalted Sun does so by removing any obfuscation that ego plays in our self/Self belief and hence access to Source. A great king is one who understands that there is no room in leadership for self aggrandizement. A leader exists to serve the people and create environments in which each and every one of them can succeed. The prosperity and grace Jupiter provides are to be used for that purpose alone so that all become aware of the wisdom of their own experiences.

Today, as this is the predominating feature of our starscape, consider the ways in which current circumstances may be humbling you so that you can more clearly perceive the true relationship between your life mission with the ways you draw upon and interface with the Sagittarius and Pisces areas of your life. More mundanely, this may be about cleansing yourself of prideful boundaries and blockages that have been preventing you from getting the help and grace you need.

My Own Humble Appeal

It appears that the cazimi and the upcoming eclipse on my own Jupiter and Descendant came early!

For years, my landlord has bullied me and many of my female identifying neighbors in various insidious ways.

Mind you, living under the constant fear of suddenly being homeless is a trigger for me. As a young child as young as 4 until I went away to college, my mother would throw me out of the house — when I was 4, there was an incident during the winter when I woke her up from a nap to a typical 4 year old’s havoc that result in me being dumped on the street to wait for my father to let me back into the house. Later it would be longer exiles in which I’d suddenly find myself dropped off at relatives homes for unknown lengths of time, depending on whenever she decided that I wasn’t an odious presence in her life anymore. I share this as part of unpacking my own issues with grace, humility, and enduring when there seems to be a lack of agency in the events of one’s life…something we all are slowly coming out of with the pandemic.

Anyhow, on Saturday, the day before the Easter holiday, my landlord delivered the straw that broke the camel’s back. An illegal eviction notice (as far as I can figure out from the county and city online resources) along with the check for 2/3 of the rent that I’d submitted at the beginning of the month to intimidate me into moving out. (In February, H=he had even gone as far as to say to me that they wanted me out of my unit so the building could become profitable again (i.e., getting me out would allow them to double or triple the rent on my unit).)

So, here I am, swallowing my Leo pride again (that seems to be the theme of this 12th house year for me), and offering a FLASH SALE to raise the funds I need to keep me and the babies housed and to afford legal help to ensure that the harassment is curtailed.
