That’s a Wrap
On Mercury Retrograde
Breathing a sigh of relief because Mercury is finally direct?
Take the moment to enjoy finishing up a three week audit of how you use Mercury — the planet of connection that’s primarily responsible for connecting your internal and external realities.
In the sign of Taurus, regardless of what house it covers in your chart, this will have to do with stability (or lack thereof) especially of material resources as well as beliefs and habits around wealth (not necessarily money but what support is needed to thrive and engage with the external world).
Okay. Now, before you go bounding off thinking all is done and dusted, please take the next couple of weeks, as Mercury finds its footing again, to sit down and properly wrap out of this process. Doing so will optimally set you up for the opportunities that will arrive when Jupiter joins the party of Mercury, Sun, the North Node, and Uranus on May 16, 2023 at 10:20a PDT for a yearlong stay.

With the planetary pileup in Taurus, it’s important to thoroughly check out how Mercury’s retrograde has activated the slower transiting planets:

URANUS
Uranus’ co-presence has most likely made prompted a re-examination of the (in)stability that began in this part of your life as long ago as May 2018. Over the last 5 years, how has Uranus’ harrowing of that part of your life you thought was “stable” but had indeed turned into an infertile, concretized area.
During the last three weeks, what prompts made it unavoidable to re-examine how Uranus has necessistated you to:
seek solutions (especially amongst people who challenge you to face your fears and exercise your courage); and
implement improvements (to the systems that sustain what makes your embodied life worth living)?
List the steps you need to take, as Mercury moves direct, to correct what isn’t working and what these actions aim to get back on track.
NORTH NODE (aka RAHU)
The North Node entered Taurus on December 22, 2021 (though it issued its first shot over the bow at the lunar eclipse on November 19, 2021) and will exit on July 12, 2023.
Regardless of your natal nodal placements (if you don’t know where these are, enter your birth information over at astro.com and look for the upside down horse shoe ☊), the North Node’s transit through a sign and house bring you unfamiliar — alien even — experiences as well as stir up unfulfilled obsessions and even insecurities around competency in this area of your life. In Taurus, this has primarily been about manifesting, externalizing, solidifying — if you can’t grasp it with your senses, then there’s no satisfaction to be had.
During this retrograde, Mercury’s role has been to poke holes through your manifestation process in order to help you realize something even more aligned — that sets you free into yourself rather than entraps you into something you’ll have to maintain without joy. Have you had to reconsider:
who you’re collaborating with in your manifestation process;
the language you use to communicate what it is you’re manifesting and/or how to get what you need in order to move from concept to execution;
what spaces are the most fertile for your process and/or making your space conducive to creativity;
the actual steps to your process — cutting out the fat and getting it lean and effective; and/or
how to have a daily practice that slowly and steadily moves you towards your goal (in order to calm the anxieties that may have arisen)?
May & June books are open!
If you’d like to get the most out of the events and opportunities from this outgoing Mercury Retrograde season, please consider scheduling a reading.
If so, make a list of next steps forward! (Lol. At this point, you get what I’m doing here.) Get this all written — yes, use pen and paper. Mercury in Taurus is about tangibility and the act of moving a thought from inside your mind into reality can be as simple as writing it down. (And I’m pretty certain this particular Mercury taught a lot of us about the pitfalls of having things only as digital artifacts.)
THE ECLIPSE
As part of the nodal transit, we have to look at the Scorpio Lunar Eclipse on May 5th, that opposed Mercury. (Read more about an in-depth way to process the Taurus/Scorpio eclipse cycle in my post Act III, Page 85.) In the pursuit of calling forth into manifestation in Taurus:
How have you been integrating the actual needs of the mind for homeostasis?
How does what you’re building in Taurus actually enable you to weather the vagaries of circumstance and actually enable you to achieve self mastery — especially of how you allow yourself to feel but act in response?
How have you been processing and communicating the vulnerabilities that have prompted your need for stability so that you’re able to face the fears to find what you’re looking for on the other side of them?
THE CAZIMI
My last newsletter Last Call I went into depth about how Mercury was getting cleansed during this particular joining of the Sun and Mercury. My post script to that in the process of wrapping up the retrograde is this:
What deep seated set of thoughts that had concretized into beliefs had to be faced and then reconsidered in order to best set you up for aligned manifestation?
How will you go about engaging in the behaviors, updated language, and energetic ties (aka who are you surrounding yourself with) to shift away from these limiting thought and belief patterns — especially in your day-to-day — so that you can have the supportive, responsible, and freeing stabililty you need in the Taurus area of your chart?
Because Big Daddy Jup Is Coming
Today, watch out for any parting gifts that Jupiter in Aries has in store for you — especially since Jupiter won’t be visiting this part of the zodiac for another 12 years. What final expansion or act of grace comes out of the blue to imbue you with the self/Self belief you need as Jupiter goes into the put your money where your mouth is part of the sky.
Jupiter in Taurus is potentially one of my favorite transits (second to Jupiter in Cancer) — but that’s for my mileage. Lol.
However, before I tell you to watch this space for more on that, here’s why it’s important to wrap this particular Mercury retrograde out well:
Jupiter expands whatever it touches. It invests in growing what you’ve sown. If the faults in logic or process that Mercury has been working so hard to bring to light are not corrected, Jupiter will exacerbate them and wind you in a “be careful what you wished for” situation — especially with the Jupiter/North Node conjunction looming on the horizon.
